Sean Patrick Ramos, known professionally as Shanti Dope, was born on April 15, 2001, in Quezon City, Philippines. His musical journey began in 2013, where he started writing verses, drawing inspiration from local rappers who utilized songwriting as a form of storytelling. This early dedication to craft led to his first significant achievement: having a long verse featured on rapper Smugglaz’s 2015 album, “Walking Distance.” This early recognition helped establish his presence in the Filipino hip hop scene and set the foundation for his professional career which began in 2017.
Since 2017, Shanti Dope has released several EPs and numerous singles, establishing himself as a notable figure in Pinoy hip hop and trap music. His debut EP, “Shanti Dope” (2017), was followed by “Materyal” (2017), which spawned the hit single “Nadarang.” Other significant singles include “Shanti Dope” featuring Gloc-9 (2017), “Amatz” (2019), and “Kamusta” with Flow G (2022). His work has gained both national and international attention; for instance, his song “Amatz” was featured in the Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” in 2021, and he collaborated on an international remix of “Crazy” with Mimi, NomaD, and Krayzie Bone in 2018. More recently, Shanti Dope has expanded into acting, joining the cast of the TV series “Black Rider” in 2023-2024.
Shanti Dope’s career is marked by consistent releases and collaborations, demonstrating a steady progression as an artist. He has accumulated twelve awards from forty-eight nominations, underscoring his impact and recognition within the music industry.
