Shawn Mendes achieved early recognition through social media before establishing a successful music career, with multiple chart-topping albums and singles. After quickly gaining a significant following by posting song covers on Vine in 2013, Shawn Mendes secured a deal with Island Records in January 2014. His debut single, ‘Life of the Party,’ released on June 26, 2014, made him the youngest artist to debut in the top 25 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

That year, he starred in YouTube’s Artist Spotlight Story documentary and performed at the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. In 2019, he released ‘If I Can’t Have You,’ which debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, followed by ‘Señorita’ with Camila Cabello, which became his first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. His fourth studio album, ‘Wonder,’ released in 2020, cemented his record as the youngest male artist with four Billboard 200 topping studio albums.

A Netflix documentary, ‘Shawn Mendes: In Wonder,’ premiered the same year. Expanding into film, Mendes voiced the lead character in the animated-live action film ‘Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile’ in 2022. Following a musical sabbatical, he released his fifth studio album, ‘Shawn,’ in November 2024, exploring the folk genre. His prolific career has garnered significant industry recognition, including 13 SOCAN Awards, 10 MTV Europe Music Awards, and 8 Juno Awards, alongside three Grammy Award nominations.
