Uncured is an electrifying Progressive/Technical Death Metal band from New Jersey, USA, known for their explosive and uncompromising sound. Formed by brothers Rex Cox (vocals and guitar) and Zak Cox (lead guitar), alongside drummer “King Z” Zachary King and bassist Betto Andrade, the band has quickly made a name for itself in the metal scene. Their music is a blend of intricate riffs and powerful vocals, showcasing their impressive technical prowess and dynamic energy.

In June 2023, Uncured released their latest EP, My Design, which has significantly enhanced their reputation. The single “Let’s Break Out” debuted at #38 on the Billboard Top 40 Mainstream Rock Chart and reached #13 on the SMR Active Rock Chart. Their subsequent single, “Fight This War,” climbed to #5 on the Metal Radio Chart and #15 on the SMR Active Rock Chart, further establishing their presence in the metal world.

Since their first tour in 2017, Uncured has performed over 300 shows across 14 countries. They’ve shared stages with renowned acts such as Bad Omens, Jinjer, Whitechapel, and Lacuna Coil. In 2023 alone, they played at major festivals including Welcome to Rockville and Blue Ridge Rock Festival, and headlined the Reformatory Stage at the Inkcarceration Festival. They are set for Main Stage appearances at Inkcarceration 2024, Rock Fest 2024, and Capulet Fest, with a fall performance at the Metal Injection Festival in Brooklyn, NY.

Uncured’s discography includes their acclaimed full-length albums Medusa (2017) and Epidemic (2019). Medusa was named one of the “10 Best Metal Albums of 2017” by AXS.com, and Epidemic received praise for its groovy riffs and technical brilliance. Their EP Uncovered (2020) featured notable covers and won Sirius XM Liquid Metal’s “Cover of the Year” for Slayer’s “Disciple.”

The band’s recent material highlights their evolution, with Rex’s expansive vocal range and Zak’s evocative guitar work. Their videos have amassed over half a million views in under three months, reflecting their growing global fan base.
