Veronika Jean Bozeman was born on January 9, 1988, in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in the South Central region of Los Angeles and attended Crenshaw High School before pursuing higher education at California State University, Long Beach. From an early age, Bozeman expressed a strong desire to pursue a career in music, describing it as her primary calling. Her professional journey began with vocal producing work, notably contributing to songs such as “Lay It Down” by Lloyd in 2011. This early work established her vocal talent and introduced her to the music industry.

Bozeman gained significant recognition through her recurring role as Veronica in the Fox primetime musical drama television series “Empire.” Her performance of “What is Love” on the pilot episode became a notable moment, contributing to the show’s debut soundtrack album achieving commercial success, including reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The music video for “What is Love” amassed over 100 million views on YouTube, further solidifying her presence as a prominent artist. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with various notable musicians, including Timbaland, CeeLo Green, Timothy Bloom, and Rihanna, contributing to a diverse range of projects.
