Achieving international fame in 1987, Vanessa Paradis’s breakthrough single ‘Joe le taxi’ topped the charts in France for 11 weeks and reached number three in the United Kingdom. Her professional music career commenced earlier with her first single, ‘La Magie des surprises-parties,’ recorded in 1983. The success of ‘Joe le taxi’ propelled her debut album, ‘M&J’ (for Marilyn and John), released in 1988, establishing her as a versatile French artist in music, acting, and modeling. Paradis continued her musical trajectory with the 1990 album ‘Variations sur le même t’aime,’ which notably included a remake of Lou Reed’s ‘Walk on the Wild Side.’ That same year marked significant recognition in her burgeoning acting career, as she received the César Award for Most Promising Actress for her role in the film ‘Noce Blanche,’ and was also honored with the Victoires de la Musique award for Best Female Singer.

Her musical output in recent years includes the album ‘Love Songs,’ released in 2013. In 2016, Paradis served as a member of the main competition jury at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
