Vanishing Twin is a London-based experimental music group, recognized for their distinctive sound and consistent album releases since 2015. After establishing itself in 2015 with core members Cathy Lucas on vocals and guitar, Valentina Magaletti on drums, and Susumu Mukai on bass, the experimental music group Vanishing Twin immediately garnered attention for its distinctive sound and consistent album releases. Magaletti brought extensive experience from her prior collaborations with notable artists such as Bat for Lashes and Gruff Rhys’ Neon Neon project, while Mukai, also known as Zongamin, contributed his unique sonic perspective. The group swiftly debuted their innovative sound with the release of their first album, ‘Choose Your Own Adventure,’ in 2016 through Soundway Records, introducing their intricate blend of global musical styles rooted in tropicalía and kosmische rock traditions.

Maintaining their consistent and acclaimed release schedule, Vanishing Twin continued their productive collaboration with Fire Records for their 2021 album, ‘Ookii Gekkou.’ This release further cemented their reputation for integrating diverse psychedelic traditions and exploring significant thematic depth within their evolving body of work. Most recently, Vanishing Twin released their latest full-length album, ‘Afternoon X,’ in 2023, also through Fire Records.
