Virlan Garcia

Virlan Garcia, born in Sinaloa, Mexico, is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and recording artist known for his work in the regional Mexican genre. His musical contributions include norteño, corridos, and bandas. Garcia has also written songs for other artists, a notable instance being “Fuego Cruzado” which was featured on Gerardo Ortiz’s album, “Hoy Más Fuerte.” Garcia’s own musical style adheres to the sierreño (trio) format, where he performs rhythm guitar alongside Carlos Gomez on 12-string guitar and Edgar Salazar on tuba.

Garcia’s career began to gain traction with the digital release of his debut single, “Que Ya Estas Harta,” in the spring of 2015. This single garnered attention, appearing on various regional Mexican song charts. Following this, multiple of his compositions were included in various year-end compilations of “best corridos” from different record labels. In February 2016, Garcia independently released two full-length albums: “Pobre o Criminal” and “Yi Cambio Mi Suerte.” The album “Pobre o Criminal” featured the widely covered single “Quién Te Entiende,” while “Yi Cambio Mi Suerte” included the popular track “Ivan Archivaldo.”

Across his career, Garcia has consistently engaged with audiences through both his original music and collaborations, demonstrating a steady progression in the regional Mexican music scene. He has been recognized for his ability to connect with listeners, with “Te Mereces” spending 19 weeks on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart, reflecting his sustained presence and influence in the genre.
