Wand emerged from Los Angeles, California, in 2013, solidifying its lineup with Cory Hanson on vocals and guitar, Robert Cody on guitar, Evan Backer on bass, and Evan Burrows on drums. The band quickly established a prolific output, releasing five studio albums within its first five years. Their debut, “Ganglion Reef,” arrived in 2014, followed by “Golem” and “1000 Days” in 2015, showcasing their rapid creative pace. This initial period also saw them touring in support of notable acts, which helped them gain early recognition and build a foundation in the psychedelic and garage rock scenes.
Throughout their career, Wand has demonstrated a commitment to evolving their musical style. They continued to release albums such as “Plum” in 2017 and “Laughing Matter” in 2019, receiving positive reviews from music publications. In addition to studio work, Wand expanded their discography with live albums like “Spiders in the Rain” in 2022 and various EPs, including “Perfume” in 2018.
