Philippines Zild Benitez is a Filipino musician, producer, and singer-songwriter known for his work as the lead vocalist, pianist, keyboardist, and bassist of the funk rock band IV of Spades, and for his subsequent solo career which blends introspective sounds with bedroom pop and synth-driven grooves.

Daniel Zildjian Garon Benitez, born on April 23, 1997, in Quezon City, Philippines, is a Filipino musician, producer, and singer-songwriter known professionally as Zild. He is the son of Frank Benitez, formerly the drummer for Hungry Young Poets and Barbie’s Cradle. During his childhood and teenage years, Benitez worked as a commercial model for several Filipino brands including Lucky Me! Pancit Canton, Coca-Cola, and Nido. He also had a cameo appearance in the ABS-CBN primetime series “Got to Believe.” He graduated from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Production. His early experiences in modeling and acting provided him exposure and contributed to his formative years in the public eye.
Benitez’s musical career began in June 2014 when he joined the band IV of Spades as the bassist and keyboardist. The band quickly gained recognition, signing with Warner Music Philippines and releasing their debut single “Ilaw sa Daan.” In 2018, IV of Spades received the New Artist of the Year and MYX Bandarito Performance of the Year awards at the Myx Music Awards, and also won the Favorite New Group award at the 30th Awit Awards. Following the departure of their original lead vocalist, Unique Salonga, Benitez took on lead vocal duties. The band released their debut studio album, “ClapClapClap!,” on January 18, 2019. Benitez is also a member of the electronic pop duo Manila Magic with Tim Marquez.
In 2020, Benitez launched his solo career with the release of his debut album, “Homework Machine,” on August 6, featuring tracks like “Sinungaling” and “Dila.” That same year, he signed an artist management contract with Rico Blanco’s Balcony Entertainment. His second solo album, “Huminga,” was released on April 8, 2021. In August 2022, Benitez signed with UMG Philippines through Island Records Philippines, under which he released his third album, “Medisina,” in October 2022. He has collaborated with artists such as Ben&Ben and Juan Karlos Labajo on tracks like “Lunod” and “Gabi.” His fourth solo album, “Superpower,” was released on August 9, 2024.
