Borgore

Yosef Asaf Borger, professionally known as Borgore, was born on October 20, 1987, in Holon, Israel, and raised in Tel Aviv. His career in music began as the drummer for the Israeli deathcore band Shabira. This early experience in heavy metal helped shape his musical style, which he later dubbed ‘Gorestep,’ a fusion combining triplet drum patterns with heavy metal influences in electronic dance music. He integrates suggestive sound elements, drawing from horror movies, farm animal vocalizations, and explicit content.

In 2007, Borgore commenced his solo artistic journey. He founded his independent record label, Buygore Records, which has since become a platform for his releases and those of other artists. Over his career, he has released music through various labels, including Dim Mak Records, Spinnin’ Records, Sumerian Records, and Shift Recordings. A significant milestone occurred in 2012 with the release of his single “Decisions,” which featured backing vocals from Miley Cyrus. This collaboration broadened his audience and solidified his presence in the electronic music scene. In the same year, he relocated to Los Angeles to further his career.

His discography includes studio albums such as “#Newgoreorder” (2014), “The Art Of Gore” (2019), and “CHIAROSCURO” (2024), all released via Buygore, with “#Newgoreorder” also being released through Dim Mak Records. He has also released numerous extended plays (EPs) and singles, collaborating with artists like Carnage, Waka Flocka Flame, G-Eazy, Juicy J, and Bella Thorne, among others. In November 2023, following the birth of his daughter, Ellie, Borger returned to Israel before settling in Hungary with his family, marking a personal turning point in his life.
