A R I Z O N A are an electro-pop/rock band straight out of New Jersey. Currently signed to Atlantic, one of the world’s biggest record labels, they’ve released two studio albums and one live disc. Their debut, 2017’s Gallery, hit the US Heatseekers Top 5 and spawned their biggest hit to date, ‘Oceans Away’, which made the US Rock Top 20. Their second album, Asylum, was released late in 2019 and each of its tracks has been streamed tens of millions of times.
A R I Z O N A is Zachary Charles on vocals, Nathan Esquite on guitar, and David Labugen on keys and synth. The trio met whilst studying music at college in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating, they went their separate ways for a time, working as songwriters and producers in Los Angeles and London before gravitating back to their native New Jersey. Here, they formed a band and began uploading their music in 2015. Through an unusual source, the website Reddit, they found their manager. Within a year, they’d been signed by Atlantic and were releasing their first run of singles. Their breakthrough came quickly with a remix of ‘I Was Wrong’ by German dance music guru Robin Schulz. The track has 128 million streams on Spotify alone and made its way into the Billboard Dance Charts for over two months. This laid the ground nicely for their debut album, Gallery, which performed well on the Billboard 200, Heatseeker, and Alternative Charts.
With evocative music and Charles’ distinctive vocal style, A R I Z O N A are one modern pop/rock act worth seeking out.
