Abby Anderson

Abigail Denise Anderson was born on March 10, 1997, in Southlake, Texas. The second oldest of seven children, she began piano lessons at age five. Her early interest in country music was influenced by her mother, who came from a family of country music enthusiasts. To pursue her musical aspirations, Anderson chose to be homeschooled, which allowed her to perform gigs across Texas. Before dedicating herself fully to music, she also made a unique mark by becoming the first girl to play on her middle school’s football team.

At the age of 17, Anderson completed high school early and relocated to Nashville in February 2015. She initially supported herself by working as a nanny while performing at notable Nashville venues like The Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room Cafe, and Tin Roof. Her career gained significant traction in 2014 when her rendition of “Let Freedom Ring” was featured on Glenn Beck’s conservative talk show, reaching both Billboard and iTunes charts. This early success set the stage for her future in the music industry. In 2017, a pivotal moment occurred during a charity event at the Ryman Auditorium, where she secured a publishing and record deal with Black River Entertainment.

Anderson’s official debut with Black River Records came in September 2017 with the release of her song “This Feeling.” The following year, she gained industry recognition as a Pandora Country Artist to Watch and was included in CMT Listen Up’s “18 for 2018” list. She was also honored as part of CMT’s Next Women of Country Class of 2018. Her single “Make Him Wait,” released in April 2018, accumulated over 4 million streams on Spotify, and its music video premiered on CMT in September of the same year. Anderson released her debut EP, ‘I’m Good,’ in September 2018, which featured five songs, including one co-written by Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett, and Rhett Akins. She made her Grand Ole Opry debut on September 8, 2018, and performed at the National Christmas Tree Lighting in Washington D.C. in November 2018, further solidifying her presence in the country music scene.
