Skylar Park

Skylar Park is an Olympic medalist and Pan American Games champion in Taekwondo, representing Canada on the global stage. After securing a gold medal at the 2016 World Taekwondo Junior Championships in Burnaby, British Columbia, in the 59kg weight class, Skylar Park transitioned effectively into senior international competition in 2017. She quickly demonstrated her prowess by earning a bronze medal at the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships in the 57kg category, an elite performance followed swiftly by a silver medal at the Pan American Games in Lima later that same year. Park made her significant Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games, where she advanced to the quarterfinals in the highly competitive 57kg event, firmly establishing herself as a formidable presence on the global Taekwondo circuit.

Park continued to build on her momentum in 2022, notably securing a third consecutive gold medal at the Pan American Championships in the 57kg category. That same year, she further solidified her elite standing by achieving three World Taekwondo Grand Prix bronze medals across different highly competitive international events, showcasing her consistent ability to podium against the world’s top athletes. These consistent medal performances underscored her relentless dedication and high-level execution. The year 2023 marked an exceptionally strong period for Park, highlighted by a remarkable four international victories.

Additionally, she leverages her platform and experience to empower future generations, having served as a mentor for the highly regarded Voice in Sport (VIS) program, inspiring young female athletes.
