Before joining the UFC, Topuria accumulated a professional record with several victories, primarily secured via knockout or technical knockout. His early career featured matches in promotions such as WOW: Way of Warriors FC, WAR MMA, and HDH: Hombres de Honor.

Topuria’s competitive journey includes notable wins, such as a first-round knockout of Johan Segas at WOW 9 in May 2023, and a first-round technical knockout against Alberto Ibanez at WAR MMA 1 in March 2022. He also achieved a first-round technical knockout victory over Lucas Tenorio at HDH: Hombres de Honor 110 in December 2021.
