Alexa Ilacad established her multi-faceted career as an actress, singer, host, and model at an early age, gaining national recognition through commercial appearances for major brands including Vaseline, Johnson’s Baby, Smart, Cheez Whiz, McDonald’s, and Jollibee (beginning in 2002). She joined the children’s comedy show ‘Goin’ Bulilit’ in 2008 and appeared in minor acting roles in series including ‘May Bukas Pa’ (2009) and ‘Nasaan Ka, Elisa?’ (2011), alongside appearances in ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya.’ In 2012, Ilacad expanded into music, joining the group Tweens Of Pop and releasing a self-titled EP under Star Music. Ilacad’s acting career saw significant growth in 2013 when she was cast as Lexie Domingo in ‘Luv U,’ forming the popular ‘NLex’ love team with Nash Aguas. This partnership generated multiple projects, including episodes of ‘MMK’ and ‘Wansapanataym,’ and she took on the role of the young Maria Mercedes in the eponymous series the same year.
Her journey highlighted body dysmorphia and formed a new on-screen partnership with KD Estrada, ‘KDLex.’ She also completed her marketing degree as a dean’s lister from Treston International College in 2021. Post-‘Pinoy Big Brother,’ she and Estrada released music, including her self-written single ‘Paano,’ which reached number one on iTunes Philippines in 2022. They subsequently starred in the miniseries ‘Run to Me’ later that year. In 2023, Ilacad showcased her theatrical abilities, starring in PETA’s musical play ‘Walang Aray.’ Looking ahead, she is set to expand her hosting portfolio, having been announced as a host for ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ slated for 2025.
