Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Alexis Coe pursued her higher education in New York at Columbia and Sarah Lawrence. Prior to her publishing success, she worked as an oral historian for the Brooklyn Historical Society and as a research curator in the New York Public Library’s exhibitions department. There, she co-curated “Find the Past, Know the Future,” one of the Library’s most popular exhibitions. Her contributions have solidified her reputation as a leading voice in American history, offering fresh perspectives and making historical narratives accessible to a broad audience.
