Andrew Maxwell, born on December 3, 1974, in Dublin, Ireland, embarked on his stand-up comedy career in 1992 at The Comedy Cellar in Dublin. His early career included regular appearances on BBC Two’s ‘Sunday Show’ starting in 1995. He gained further recognition through guest slots on topical chat shows like ‘The Panel’ on RTÉ One and British television programs such as ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ and ‘Mock the Week.’ In 2004, Maxwell was named ‘King of Comedy’ on Channel 4’s reality show ‘Kings Of Comedy.’ He received an if.comedy award nomination for best show at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007, an event where he has frequently performed.
Maxwell has narrated the MTV reality series ‘Ex on the Beach’ since its launch in 2014, contributing to over 80 episodes up to 2018. He has also hosted BBC Radio 4 series, including ‘Andrew Maxwell’s Public Enemies’ (2013) and ‘Welcome to Wherever You Are’ (2017-2019), which featured international comics. His work on radio extends to being a regular panelist on ‘The News Quiz.’ In 2019, he participated in the nineteenth series of ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’, finishing in eleventh place.
