Antoine Griezmann was born on March 21, 1991, in Mâcon, France. His early career development was unusual, as he was rejected by several French academies due to his small stature before being scouted by Spanish club Real Sociedad at age 13. He balanced his education in Bayonne, France, with training in San Sebastián, Spain. Griezmann made his professional debut for Real Sociedad in 2009. He spent five seasons with the club, helping them achieve promotion to La Liga in 2010 and qualify for the UEFA Champions League in 2013. During his time at Real Sociedad, he made 180 league appearances and scored 46 goals.
In 2014, Griezmann transferred to Atlético Madrid for €30 million. His first tenure at the club was highly successful, winning the Supercopa de España in 2014, the UEFA Europa League in 2018, and the UEFA Super Cup in 2018. He was a key player, scoring 94 goals in 180 league appearances and receiving nominations for the Ballon d’Or and Best FIFA Men’s Player in 2016 and 2018.
