Athena Dion

Originally hailing all the way from Greece, but growing up in beautiful Miami, the Greek Glamazon Athena Dion is truly one of a kind in the wonderful world of drag. With over 15.7k followers, Athena has made a name and place for herself since first starting out in the drag scene a whole decade ago.

She got her first job as a hostess in a nightclub, immersing herself into the vibe and culture of drag, and has climbed the ladder ever since. The Greek Glamazon is loved by all in the LGBTQ community for her wild costumes and looks, as well as everything she gives back to them, and the platforms she provides for new, up and coming drag performers. She runs several drag brunches in the Miami area, the biggest one being the R House Brunch, complete with eggs, booze and drag performances. In 2020, at the height of despair and tragedy for most in America, Athena was there for the people and organised Virtual Pride 2020 with the South Florida Pride Collective. The goddess collaborated with a range of much sought after drag stars who donated their time to perform virtually.

During the last decade, Athena has walked the runway at Miami Beach Pride for the LA label Marco Marco, and played Posh Spice in a Spice Girls tribute act assembled to welcome Mel B to the Sugar Factory, among so many other accomplishments. Her love of what she does is evident and her message to the new generation of drag queens rings so true when she says “do what you love”.
