As the winner of season 2 of the Amazon Prime reality show The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, Steven Glen Diehl, a.k.a. Biqtch Puddin’, officially earned the title of America’s Next Drag Supermonster. Originally airing in 2017, the series featured 10 performers from around the globe competing in weekly challenges based on the principles of Drag, Filth, Horror and Glamour. The season finale saw Puddin’ cut a dark, demonic figure in the final floorshow, replete with glowing red eyes, tendril fingers and fabulously gross fangs, resulting in the Boulet Brothers handing her the crown and a cash prize of US $10,000.
Since Dragula, Puddin’ has starred in the 2018 short film Life’s A Biqtch and in 2019 featured in both the indie horror movie Deathcember and the Netflix series Eastsiders, created by Mad Men star Kit Williamson. 2020 saw Puddin’ appear in the horror-comedy series It Listens from the Radio, before the Covid-19 pandemic prompted her to found the Digital Drag Show, a live drag show streamed via Twitch. The star-studded show has featured alumni of RuPaul’s Drag Race including Alaska Thunderfuck, Aja and Monique Heart, as well as drag kings, queer DJs, rappers and performers from around the world. Puddin’ told Vice Media’s i-D magazine that she has ‘really big plans for Digital Drag. I’ve always wanted my own show and it’s kind of a perfect storm time to create one.’ Puddin’ received a nomination for a 2021 Queertie Award, presented by the gay-orientated online magazine and newspaper Queerty, in the category of Drag Royalty. She keeps up with her fans @biqtchpuddin on Instagram, where she boasts more than 145,000 followers.
