Bubba Ganter

Born in Flagstaff, Arizona, in 1969, Bubba Ganter initially pursued a college football career, which was cut short due to injuries. This led him to the entertainment industry, where he began in personal protection. His mentor, Earl Gabbidon, enlisted him to protect Country/Western singer Dolly Parton during her Arizona concerts in 1989. Following this, Ganter toured with the pop duo Milli Vanilli on their West Coast tour. From 1989 to 1994, he served as the personal bodyguard for Jordan Knight of New Kids On The Block, continuing in this role and as Knight’s Tour Manager until 2005. He also managed tours for the Reggae group Morgan Heritage. His first screen appearance was in New Kids On The Block’s “Step by Step” music video, leading to three more music videos with the group, and appearances in their 1990 Pay Per View special “No More Games Live” and the 1991 Disney MGM Studio’s NFL Super Bowl Special “NKOTB Wildest Dreams” on NBC.

Ganter made his film debut in 1995, playing a bodyguard in “A Texas Payback,” which sparked his interest in acting. He subsequently featured on NBC’s “Unsolved Mysteries” as music mogul Marion “Suge” Knight in an episode about Tupac Shakur’s murder. In 1997, he appeared in “Coronation Street-Viva Las Vegas.” His theatrical work included roles as Pvt. C.J. Memphis in “A Soldier’s Story” and the voice of Audrey II in “A Little Shop of Horrors.” After a hiatus, he returned to television in the Spike TV reality show “The Club,” portraying himself in a series about the Las Vegas nightclub business. In 2009, he returned to film with “Middle Men,” followed by “Columbus Circle” and “Our Family Wedding” in 2010, where he performed his first fight scenes opposite Forrest Whittaker and Carlos Mencia.

Since 2010, Ganter has maintained consistent work in TV and film. His television roles include CBS’s “The Mentalist” and numerous guest appearances on Nickelodeon’s “Sam & Cat,” most notably as the character Bunny. His first lead role was as retired football player Gregg Booker in “Sideline Confessions.” After an 18-month break in Arizona, Ganter was asked by Dan Schneider to reprise his role as Bunny alongside Kel Mitchel in the Nickelodeon series “Game Shakers,” which ran from 2015 to 2019. He has also directed “Kuttz Barbershop: Work in Progress” (2022), the “Northern Arizona 7000 High School Sports Show” (2021), “You Matter Too: Not on My Court” (2020), and two episodes of “TMI Hollywood” (2018). Some of his recent acting credits include “Malcolm Hawkins” (2025), “Dark Side of Night” (2025), “Operation Hope” (2024), “10 Eyes” (2022), and “Dolemite Is My Name” (2019).
