Instantly recognizable to Nickelodeon viewers as Bunny on the popular comedy series Game Shakers, Bubba Ganter is an American sportsman turned bodyguard and actor who has fully embraced many aspects of the entertainment industry. In Game Shakers (which ran from 2015 to 2019), Ganter worked alongside Kel Mitchel (famous for his part in the iconic Nickelodeon series Kenan & Kel), Cree Cicchino and Madisyn Shipman as an assistant of Double G (played by Mitchel).
Despite injuries cutting his college football ambitions short, Ganter was adamant to make something of himself, finding the opportunity in 1989 to be country legend Dolly Parton’s personal bodyguard during one of her tours. Building up a reputation in this area, he went on to be recruited by pop group New Kids On The Block as lead singer Jordan Knight’s personal protection from 1989 to 1994. He found his first acting break as a bodyguard in the action movie Texas Payback (1995), a role which solidified his love of being on-screen. He soon afterwards portrayed music executive Marion “Suge Knight” in an episode of NBC’s Unsolved Mysteries. Later movie credits include the movie adaptation of Coronation Street (the UK’s longest running soap opera), Coronation Street: Viva Las Vegas! (1997) as well as Middle Men (2009) with Gabriel Macht, Our Family Wedding (2010) with Forest Whitaker and Columbus Circle (2012).
Ganter’s television credits include CBS’s hit psychological crime drama The Mentalist with Simon Baker, BET’s The Family Business and Nickelodeon’s teen sitcom Sam & Cat starring Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy. Ganter continues to search for new opportunities in Hollywood to show off the skills he’s developed over a long career in show business.
