The incredibly creative Callen Schaub is an astounding artist best known for his abstract paintings and vibrant spin art. He openly shares his painting process – often created by using trapezes, pendulums, and spinning machines – with viewers through his social media accounts in the hope that it will inspire fans everywhere to participate in his “Fake Art” movement.
Born and raised in Toronto, Schaub attended the Ontario College of Art & Design University. After graduating in 2012 he ran his own gallery for four years and quickly shot to fame as a painter who specialised in abstract art. He was also renowned for making his art accessible to all, and began to work more and more digitally and outside of the gallery system being an advocate for freedom of speech, expression, and creativity. His abstract paintings are bold, colourful and appealing and the process of creating them consists of spreading paint on a canvas using innovative equipment he has designed and built himself. The act of creating his paintings is also an integral part of his work, a performance piece, and Schaub has performed his work live at galleries across his native Canada, and in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, as well as on Instagram, and TikTok, where he now has over 4.4 million followers.
Schaub regularly connects with his millions of followers and fans through TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, posting pictures and videos about his artistic life. He is available for that personalised shout-out via the Cameo platform. He also has a dedicated YouTube channel, Callen Schaub, and an official website, callenschaub.com.
