Cameron Jordan

Cameron Tyler Jordan was born on July 10, 1989, in Chandler, Arizona. His father, Steve Jordan, was a tight end for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL, influencing Cameron’s early involvement in football. Jordan attended Chandler High School, where he excelled in both football and track and field, earning All-State honors in football with 85 tackles and 17.5 quarterback sacks in his senior year. He continued his athletic career at the University of California, Berkeley, playing primarily as a defensive end for the California Golden Bears from 2007 to 2010. During his college tenure, he played in 50 of 51 possible games, making 32 starts and accumulating 175 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, and 16.5 sacks, earning him honorable mention All-American and first-team All-Pac-10 honors.

Jordan was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the first round (24th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. He quickly established himself as a key defensive player, securing a four-year, $7.73 million contract upon joining the Saints. Throughout his career, Jordan has demonstrated consistent performance, earning eight Pro Bowl selections (2013, 2015, 2017–2022) and being named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. He achieved First-team All-Pro honors in 2017 and Second-team All-Pro in 2018 and 2019. Known for his durability, he has started in almost every game played, adapting to various defensive schemes from a 4-3 defense to a 3-4 defense.

His career highlights include becoming the Saints’ all-time franchise sack leader with 124.0 sacks, and ranking in the top 20 all-time in NFL sacks. Notable single-game performances include three sacks against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2012, 2.5 sacks against the Atlanta Falcons in 2013, and a career-high 15.5 sacks in the 2019 season. Beyond the field, Jordan is recognized for his leadership and community contributions, receiving the Bart Starr Award in 2025 for his impact both on and off the field, and participating in USO tours.
