Stoney played for prominent clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal, Charlton Athletic, Lincoln, and Liverpool, actively participating in UEFA Women’s Euros and FIFA Women’s World Cups. She notably captained England and the newly formed Great Britain Olympic squad at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where she scored a goal in the tournament.
