Chris Curtis

Christopher Alan Curtis was born on July 15, 1987, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Early in his life, he pursued a career in mixed martial arts, foregoing aspirations of becoming a lawyer. Curtis amassed a professional record of 18-5 on the North American regional circuit, achieving Welterweight Championships in CES MMA, Z Promotions, and Premier MMA Championship. His early career highlighted his dedication and consistent performance in various organizations.

In 2018, Curtis participated in Dana White’s Contender Series 9, securing a third-round knockout victory. Despite this success, he was not awarded a UFC contract at that time. Following this, he briefly retired from MMA but quickly returned to competition, successfully defending his Z Promotions Welterweight title and winning the vacant Z Promotions Middleweight Championship. His career then led him to the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in 2019, where he competed in the welterweight division. After multiple fights and subsequent brief retirements, Curtis returned to the sport, signing a multi-fight contract with ARES FC and competing in XMMA and iKon Fighting Federation.

Curtis eventually made his highly anticipated Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut at UFC 268 in November 2021, where he delivered a first-round knockout victory against Phil Hawes. This marked a significant turning point in his career. He continued his success with a technical knockout win over Brendan Allen in December 2021, earning a Performance of the Night bonus. Throughout his UFC tenure, Curtis has faced various opponents, earning multiple Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night awards, solidifying his presence in the middleweight and welterweight divisions. His career reflects a persistent pursuit of high-level competition, frequently stepping in as a short-notice replacement and consistently delivering notable performances.
