Connor Rozee

Connor Robert Rozee was born on January 22, 2000, in Port Augusta, South Australia. He engaged with Australian Rules football from a young age, participating in the Auskick program in Port Augusta and playing junior football with the Spencer Gulf Football League (SGFL) club South Augusta. Following his primary education, Rozee’s family relocated to Adelaide, where he attended Cedar College. In 2016, he was awarded the Kevin Sheehan Medal as the best player in the Under 16 AFL National Championship and also received South Australia’s Most Valuable Player award. Despite acknowledging a modest performance at the AFL Under 18 Championships, where he averaged 13 disposals as his state won the title, his talent was recognized. His senior South Australian National Football League (SANFL) debut in 2018 under coach Josh Carr for North Adelaide Football Club marked a turning point. Rozee’s improved form during North Adelaide’s successful finals series, culminating in a SANFL premiership win in 2018, highlighted him as a top prospect for the AFL draft.

Rozee’s athletic capabilities were further demonstrated at the AFL Draft Combine, where he secured top-10 finishes in the standing vertical jump, running vertical jump, and agility tests, alongside achieving the second-fastest 20m sprint (2.91 seconds). These performances led to his recruitment by the Port Adelaide Football Club with the fifth draft pick in the 2018 AFL draft. He made his AFL debut in the opening round of the 2019 season against Melbourne, and in Round 3, he kicked five goals and recorded 21 disposals in a game against the Brisbane Lions, earning him a Rising Star nomination. This made him the youngest Port Adelaide player to kick five goals in an AFL match and the youngest leading goalkicker for the club that year. He was also named in the AFL’s 22under22 team in 2019.

His career progression continued with his appointment as Port Adelaide’s captain in December 2023, following consecutive All-Australian selections in 2022 and 2023. Rozee’s long-term contract extension, set to keep him at the club until at least 2032, underscores his commitment to Port Adelaide. He averaged a career-best 27.4 disposals, 3.8 tackles, and 524 meters gained in 2025, demonstrating his versatility and impact on the field. Beyond his sporting achievements, Rozee has engaged in business ventures, including launching his own menswear jewellery collection in collaboration with Class A Jewellers, indicating an interest in careers beyond football. He married Maisie Packer on October 26, 2024, and they have a daughter, born in May 2024, with a son expected.
