Connor Rozee is a professional Australian rules footballer who currently serves as the captain of the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Recruited with the fifth pick in the 2018 AFL draft, Rozee made an immediate impact, debuting in Port Adelaide’s upset victory over Melbourne in the opening round of the 2019 season. In his second game, he kicked his first two AFL goals against Carlton, quickly establishing himself as a rising star in the league.
Rozee’s standout performance came in round 3 of the 2019 season when he kicked five goals and recorded 21 disposals in a close match against the Brisbane Lions. This impressive feat earned him the Rising Star nomination and made him the youngest Port Adelaide player to score five goals in a single match. He concluded his debut season as the club’s youngest leading goalscorer and was named in the AFL’s 22under22 team, further solidifying his status as a promising talent.
While Rozee’s second season in 2020 began with some challenges, including a struggle to find consistent form, he continued to adapt his game, transitioning into a midfield role. The season was further disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, testing the resilience of all players.
After a remarkable resurgence, Rozee achieved consecutive All-Australian selections and was appointed Port Adelaide’s captain in December 2023. With his leadership skills and on-field prowess, he is poised to guide the team toward future success, embodying the spirit and ambition of Port Adelaide Football Club.
