The gifted and spiritual Christian musician Cory Asbury is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and worship pastor, best known for being a former member of the Bethel Music collective.
Born in Florida, and raised in North Carolina, Asbury began showing an interest in music and songwriting from a young age. He also started leading worship at his local church when he was 17 and after High School he attended the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. His musical career began during his seven-year stay with the IHOPKC, starting in the Onething internship programme. He made his first appearance on the IHOPKC compilation Immersed, which was released in 2007, and two years later he released his debut solo album, Let Me See Your Eyes. He made numerous appearances on further IHOPKC albums, and in June 2012 he moved to Colorado Springs to join the New Life Church. He began working there as an associate worship pastor, as well as becoming a member of its ensembles Desperation Band, and New Life Worship.
Asbury signed with Bethel Music in 2015, and made his first appearance with the Collective on 2016’s Have It All. Then his fame rocketed after the release of his award-winning hit single Reckless Love in 2017, which was taken from the equally successful, Grammy-nominated second album of the same name that came out in early 2018. The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian Albums chart, and reached No. 53 on the Billboard 200 chart. His third studio album, To Love a Fool, was released in 2020.
Asbury regularly connects with his hundreds of thousands of followers and fans through Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, posting pictures and videos of his life both in and out of the recording studio and on and off the stage. He is available for that personalised shout-out via the Cameo platform, and has an official website, coryasbury.com.
