Dan Cobley is commonly referred to as an ‘online marketing whiz’. He is currently a marketing director at the search engine giant Google. There, he is responsible for helping the organisations customers and businesses make the most of their digital spaces and improving the customer relationship.
He is from Reading in the United Kingdom and studied firstly at Oxford gaining a first-class bachelor’s degree in Physics before attending rival university Cambridge and attaining his master’s degree in management (ACDMM) in 1992. Cobley has a huge array of work experience however his marketing career would begin during a spell at Walkers Snack’s from 1998-2000. From here would move on to work for PepsiCo in marketing again eventually working his way through management roles to become a director at the company.
He became director of marketing at Google in May 2006 and would serve in this position until 2009, responsible for operations in the UK and Ireland. Other positions he would later hold in Google would include being the Vice President for Marketing for North and Central Europe, the Managing Director or the UK and Ireland and the Vice President of Brand solutions. Since then he has gone on to co-found multiple successful companies include ClearScore, a credit-report facility, Salary finance and Koodoo. Most of his investments and ventures since his time at Google have mainly been within the Fintech sector. He is also a managing partner at Fintech firm Blenheim Chalcot which is named as the UK’s leading Venture Builder where he currently remains.
