Danny Kass

Born on September 21, 1982, in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, Danny Kass began snowboarding at the age of 12. He developed his skills on the slopes of Vernon Township, New Jersey, at what are now known as Hidden Valley and Mountain Creek ski resorts. His early dedication led him to attend the Okemo Mountain School in Vermont, preparing him for a career in professional snowboarding. This foundation allowed him to compete at an elite level, achieving multiple significant victories and establishing himself as a prominent athlete.

Kass’s career progressed with numerous competitive successes. He secured four US Open Championships, earned seven Winter X Games medals, and achieved two Olympic silver medals. His Olympic appearances include the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, where he earned silver in the Men’s Halfpipe at both events. In 2001, he won a gold medal in Halfpipe at the X Games, followed by multiple silver and bronze medals in subsequent years for Halfpipe and Slopestyle disciplines. These achievements highlight his consistent performance and impact in the sport.

Beyond his athletic career, Kass ventured into entrepreneurship with his brother, Matt Kass, co-founding Grenade Gloves, a brand specializing in snowboarding gloves, accessories, and extreme sporting gear. He has also engaged in media projects, starring in “The Adventures of Danny and The Dingo” on Fuel TV and co-hosting a podcast, “Unleashed,” on Monster Energy’s YouTube channel. These endeavors demonstrate his influence within the snowboarding community and his ability to diversify his professional activities.
