David Birch is an author and a leading commentator on digital financial services, whose expertise includes the fintech sector, cryptocurrency and digital identity.

He is a Global Ambassador and non-executive director of electronic transaction consultancy Consult Hyperion, and holds several other advisory roles. He has widely been recognised as a leader in his field – City AM named him one of London’s three most influential people in FinTech, and Wired magazine named him one of the 15 top sources of business information today.

As director and Global Ambassador of Consult Hyperion, Birch is part of a consultancy team that works with many of the world’s leading companies across industries including banking, telecommunications and retail, as well as with governmental and non-governmental organisations. He is a visiting professor at the University of Surrey Business School, and is a Technology Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation.
