David Giuntoli

David Giuntoli was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. His education includes St. Louis University High School and Indiana University Bloomington, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Finance in 2002. After college, Giuntoli returned to St. Louis but soon realized his passion was in entertainment. He began taking acting lessons locally, preparing for a career transition.

His acting career began with appearances on reality television shows such as MTV’s “Road Rules: South Pacific” in 2003 and “Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet.” These initial projects helped him finance his education and reinforced his decision to pursue acting full-time. In 2007, Giuntoli moved to Los Angeles and joined the Echo Theater Company, further refining his craft. His early scripted television work included guest roles in series such as “Nip/Tuck,” “Veronica Mars,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “Privileged,” “Without a Trace,” and “Cold Case.” He also took on supporting roles in films like “Weather Girl” (2009) and “6 Month Rule” (2011).

A significant milestone in Giuntoli’s career came in 2011 when he was cast as the lead, Nick Burkhardt, in NBC’s supernatural drama “Grimm.” The series ran for six seasons until 2017, establishing his presence in the television landscape. Following “Grimm,” he appeared in the 2016 film “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” and co-created, co-wrote, and starred in the comedy “Buddymoon” in the same year. From 2018 to 2023, he played Eddie Saville in the ABC drama series “A Million Little Things.” Giuntoli has also ventured into directing, helming episodes of “Grimm,” “A Million Little Things,” and “Superman & Lois.” He continues to expand his acting credits with voice roles, such as Batman/Bruce Wayne in animated films like “Batman: Soul of the Dragon” (2021) and “Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham” (2023), and is set to appear in “High Potential” in 2025.
