Charlie Kerr is the multitalented actor, musician and playwright, recognized by the Whistler Film Festival as the Star To Watch in 2016. Fans may recognise him from his role as Jory in Lost Solace, which was released in 2016, or as the rebel commander in An American Dream: The Education Of William Bowman, released the same year. Kerr has also earned a Leo Award nomination for Best Supporting Performance By A Male In A Motion Picture for his work in the multi award winning psychological thriller Cadence, also released in 2016.
However Kerr can also be found singing lead vocals for his alternative rock band Hotel Mira, also known as JPNSGRLS. As JPNSGRLS, the band have released three albums and achieved two international tours, as well as a nomination for the Sirius XM Canada Independent Music Award for Emerging Artist Of The Year (English) in 2015. The band has toured extensively throughout the USA and Europe, with fantastic reviews, and a huge newfound popularity in the UK, playing several festivals and one off gigs to incredible acclaim ad huge waves of adoring new fans. Kerr was even likened to Mick Jagger for his enthusiastic and flamboyant performances. Kerr also enjoys working as a solo artist and releases his own music under the moniker Matt And Sam’s Brother, named for his two older siblings.
His acting career began with his training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre And Film Institute in New York and Kerr went on to become one of the founding members of the Blood Pact Theatre Group, whose first production, titled Kill Your Parents In Viking, Alberta, garnered critical acclaim.
