Known to fans as “The Black Beast”, this New Orleans native has racked up over 20 wins, including 18 knockouts, in less than a decade across MMA’s most prestigious stages, including Legacy FC, Bellator MMA and UFC, where he now sits at No 5 in the official Heavyweight rankings. A face-off in the ring against Derrick Lewis is quite possibly one of the most intimidating prospects for any UFC fighter working today.

Focusing his efforts as a teenager on boxing while gaining crucial tuition by none other than George Foreman, Lewis diversified and transferred his skills to MMA, earning himself an impressive series of early victories and turning professional in 2010. Setting a precedent with his first professional fight against Tim Buchanan, with a victory by early knockout, Lewis has consistently proven his ability to bring fights to an abrupt and impactful conclusion, often within the first few rounds. Since signing to UFC in 2013, Lewis’ formidable power and precision have won him some of the sport’s respected accolades, including the joint most knockouts in UFC Heavyweight history, three Fight of the Night awards, three Performance of the Night awards and 2018 Comeback of the Year Award.
