Alex Pereira is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist and former kickboxer. He is currently the UFC Middleweight Champion and is ranked #6 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings as of March 2023. Pereira is also a former Glory middleweight and light heavyweight champion, and is the first and only fighter to have held Glory titles in two weight classes simultaneously. Currently undefeated in the UFC, Alex Pereira has a solid professional record of 7 wins and just 1 loss. He was also ranked #1 in the kickboxing middleweight and light-heavyweight rankings as of February 2021.
Pereira grew up in a favela in his home country and dropped out of middle school to begin working in a tire shop at the age of 12. He began training kickboxing in 2009 to overcome his addiction to alcohol. Since then, his career has skyrocketed, and Pereira has achieved several notable victories throughout his career, including a Performance of the Night-winning upset victory over Israel Adesanya. In 2015, Pereira made his professional mixed martial arts debut at Jungle Fight 82. After several impressive performances at Jungle Fight, Pereira then joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where he remains undefeated and worked his way up to winning the UFC Middleweight Champion after defeating Bruno Silva, Sean Strickland and most recently Israel Adesanya.
One of the most ferocious and intimidating opponents one can face in the UFC, Pereira is a fan favorite with an almost unnatural ability to time his attacks. Outside of the UFC he takes great pride in connecting with the millions of followers on his Instagram profile.
