Footballer DJ Chark is a wide receiver who established himself as NFL side Jacksonville Jaguar’s top offensive player. With the weaknesses in his game almost impossible to list, the 6ft 4in Chark has hands able to bring down any pass outside his frame and speed for days with a 4.34 40-yard dash. In 2019 he burst onto the scene with a 1000 yard season in his sophomore season, and his skills earned him a trip to the Pro Bowl. A fantastic all-around player, his work ethic has meant he has been a dream to coach and despite suffering a fractured ankle during the 2021 season he is determined to come back both mentally and physically stronger.
Born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana, he began his career as a running back in his hometown, playing high school football and also running track for Alexandria Senior High School. After offers from the likes of Texas A&M, Memphis and Oklahoma State, Clark committed to playing college football at Louisiana State University, where his straight-ahead speed earned him the nickname “The Flash”. Chark was selected in the second round with the 61st overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft by the Jackson Jaguars and was the eighth wide receiver drafted that year.
Chark has shown his usual determination to recover after his ankle injury and has made incredible progress, already sharing footage of himself running on an anti-gravity treadmill on social media. Once he’s back on the field, Chark will undoubtedly continue to be an important player to watch.
