Dominique Mcelligott

Dominique McElligott, born on March 5, 1986, in Dublin, Ireland, began her acting career during her secondary school years and later graduated from University College Dublin. She started with roles in local productions, gaining early experience on Irish television. Her initial television work included a starring role as Cora Collins in “On Home Ground” from 2001 to 2002. She continued to build her career with varied roles, including the television drama “Whiskey Echo” in 2005, a co-production between Canada and Ireland.

McElligott transitioned to international projects with roles in films such as “Moon” (2009) and the romantic comedy “Leap Year” (2010). Her television career expanded significantly with a leading role in the AMC series “Hell on Wheels” from 2011 to 2012, where she portrayed Lily Bell. In 2015, she was featured in ABC’s “The Astronaut Wives Club.” A notable career milestone was her role as Hannah Conway, the wife of the Republican presidential nominee, in the fourth and fifth seasons of the Netflix political drama “House of Cards” (2016–2017). She also played Kathleen Moore in “The Last Tycoon” (2016).

Her more recent work includes a prominent role as Maggie Shaw, also known as Queen Maeve, in the Amazon Prime Video series “The Boys” from 2019 to 2022. This role further solidified her presence in the landscape of popular streaming content.
