Hailing from a very modest upbringing in East Kentucky, Donathan Hurley has led a remarkably selfless life, up to the point of entering the reality TV show Survivor in order to be able to give his family and himself a better life. He started his journey on Survivor: Ghost Island in 2018 and immediately became a crowd favorite.
Born in 1991, Donathan grew up below the poverty line. However, the little his family had in material possessions, they made up for in love and support. This strong family knit saw Donathan dedicate his life to helping and supporting his family throughout his life. He doesn’t want for any of them to have to struggle any longer, and wants to be an inspiration to them, proof that when you try things do happen and can get better. Hence his signing up for the reality show. Growing up around lakes, trails and the mountains, Donathan was prepared to take on the challenges of nature and survival. He was such a great player, with such a touching story, he won the hearts of millions, including singing superstar Sia. Donathan has since been the recipient of two Sia Music Awards, including a cash prize that has gone straight to his family.
As well as single handedly supporting his family, Donathan has also used his winnings and ensuing public figure career to assist others less fortunate in his community. His popularity and influence has followed him since Survivor, currently with a following of 11.2K.Coming from a dancing background, openly gay Donathan loves to use dance to spread his message of love is love and change the some opinions towards to LGBTQ community. The TV star also has a passion for nature and portrait photography.
