Dr Lisa Chimes graduated from Sydney University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with first class honours. Following her graduation, she relocated to Melbourne to undertake an internship specializing in veterinary emergency and critical care. In 2008, Dr. Chimes commenced her work at SASH (Small Animal Specialist Hospital) as an emergency and critical care veterinarian, shortly after the hospital’s opening. Her professional commitment led her to become a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in the Small Animal Medicine chapter in 2010. She also played a role in establishing SASH’s canine blood bank, which provides essential blood transfusions for patients. Her clinical interests within emergency and critical care medicine include trauma, envenomations, and toxicological emergencies.
Beyond her veterinary practice, Dr. Chimes has developed a public profile through media appearances. She began her television career in 2009 with “Bondi Vet,” a show that featured the 24-hour emergency unit at SASH. She later starred in “Dr Lisa to the Rescue” and made regular appearances on CBS Pet Vet, as well as morning television shows. She is also the author of two children’s books published by Penguin, titled “My First Puppy” and “My First Kitten.” In addition to her media and literary work, Dr. Chimes is the founder and CEO of DOG by Dr Lisa and CAT by Dr Lisa, brands offering pet care products.
