Eddie Izzard is a critically acclaimed comedian, actor, and activist known for her distinctive surrealist stand-up and extensive film and television career. After a breakthrough appearance at the Hysteria III AIDS fundraiser in London in 1991, Eddie Izzard went on to establish herself as a critically acclaimed comedian with a series of successful solo shows in London’s West End. Her acclaimed show ‘Live at the Ambassadors’ (1993) earned her a Laurence Olivier Award nomination and her first British Comedy Award, followed by ‘Unrepeatable’ in 1994. Izzard quickly expanded her career into acting, making her West End drama debut in David Mamet’s ‘The Cryptogram’ in 1994 and starring as the title character in Christopher Marlowe’s ‘Edward II’ in 1995.
Izzard authored her critically acclaimed autobiography, ‘Believe Me: A Memoir of Love, Death and Jazz Chickens,’ released in 2017.
