The Hunger Games and Pitch Perfect actress Elizabeth Banks is also known for her work as a director, producer and writer on films such as Charlie’s Angels.
After an injury meant she had to take time away from the baseball pitch, a young Banks auditioned for a school play and never looked back. She discovered a love of acting, eventually going on to study at the American Conservatory Theatre and making her film debut in 1998 in Surrender Dorothy. Several other minor parts soon followed, including in Wet Hot Summer, Seabiscuit and box office success The 40 Year Old Virgin. The role saw her rise to worldwide prominence, and over the next few years she landed some of her biggest parts in movies such as Definitely, Maybe, Spider-Man, Invincible, What to Expect When You’re Expecting and The Hunger Games. During this time she also set up her own production company, Brownstone Productions, which has seen her work on smash hits like the Pitch Perfect franchise, The Invisible Woman (which she also wrote) and Charlie’s Angels. Banks is now well known for her skill behind the camera as well as on screen, but it seems her talent knows no bounds as she has also recently been chosen to present game show Press Your Luck on ABC.
Banks is now recognised as an unstoppable force in the world of film, and is well respected for her talents as a writer, actress, producer and director.
