She later transferred to Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, primarily due to her first husband’s military transfer. Following her graduation and subsequent divorce, Emily began her legal career at a real estate firm in Orange County, specializing in working with home builders on tax disclosures.
In 2008, Emily was laid off from her real estate law position due to the subprime mortgage crisis, coinciding with her marriage to Shane Simpson. The couple relocated to Utah for five years, where Emily shifted her legal focus to family law. Upon returning to Orange County, she transitioned to copyright law, a field she found more compatible with raising her three young children: Annabelle, born in 2013 via surrogacy by Emily’s younger sister, and twin sons, Luke and Keller, born in 2015. Throughout her legal career, Emily has maintained her law licenses in both Utah and California, underscoring her commitment to the legal profession while prioritizing her role as a mother.
Emily’s professional journey took a public turn when she joined the cast of ‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’ in Season 13.
