Enissa Amani

Enissa Amani became the first European woman to have an international Netflix stand-up special, Ehrenwort, released in 2018. A multifaceted comedian, artist, and activist, Amani began her stand-up comedy career in 2013, quickly establishing herself in the German entertainment scene. Her early career included winning Miss West-Germany and appearing on prominent German television programs such as ‘TV total,’ ‘NightWash,’ and ‘The Satire Summit.’ Her comedic talent was recognized with a nomination for the Prix Pantheon in 2014, and in 2015, she received the Deutscher Comedy Preis for ‘Best Newcomer.’ The same year, she participated in the RTL Comedy Grand Prix. Continuing her television presence, Amani competed on the RTL show ‘Let’s Dance’ in 2015, where she and her partner, Christian Polanc, secured an impressive fourth place.

Following Ehrenwort, her success on Netflix continued with her inclusion in the Comedians of the World special in 2019, further solidifying her global reach. In 2020, Amani created, produced, and hosted Die beste Instanz, a groundbreaking viral panel discussion centered on racism. This impactful production earned her the prestigious German Grimme Online Award in 2021, highlighting her ability to combine entertainment with critical social commentary. Since 2019, Amani has expanded her work as a vocal advocate for human rights, actively addressing issues such as racism in Germany, human rights in Iran, sexism, and Islamophobia.
