William Shockley is an actor, writer, director, and producer with a career spanning over three decades in film and television, including a notable role in “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.” After being cast by Paul Verhoeven in the acclaimed 1987 film Robocop, William Shockley launched a prolific career spanning over three decades as an actor, writer, director, and producer. His early film credits include Howling: Rebirth, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, and The Joyriders. He garnered additional roles in various episodic television and movie-of-the-week productions before reuniting with Paul Verhoeven for the film Showgirls.
Expanding his work beyond acting, Shockley has co-written 11 produced feature scripts and has produced 13 feature films and 3 TV movies. In recent years, Shockley has primarily focused on directing and producing through Tiki Tane Pictures, a company he partners in with Allen Gilmer and Tom Brady. His directorial debut, the short film Common Threads (2017), earned critical acclaim, receiving 8 Film Festival Awards, including ‘Best Short Film – Family’ at the 2017 IFS Film Festival, 6 Awards of Excellence at the 2017 Best Shorts Awards Competition, and Best Production Design at the 2017 Lady’s First International Film Festival. Within the music industry, Shockley performs as part of ‘Shockley & Fields’ with Tommy Fields, winning ‘Runner Up’ in the 2018 ‘Song of the Year’ competition, with their music subsequently featured in several Hallmark films and a national TV campaign.
Looking ahead to 2025, Shockley directed the Western film Long Shadows, set for theatrical release and starring Blaine Maye, Sarah Cortez, Jacqueline Bisset, Dominic Monaghan, and Dermot Mulroney. He also served as an Executive Producer for The Assessment, an anticipated release for 2025 featuring Elizabeth Olsen, Alicia Vikander, and Himesh Patel.
