Eva Young

Drag queen and performer Eva Young is well known for her stunning drag looks, and is a mainstay of the Chicago drag scene.

Young is a trained pharmacist, living and working in Chicago where she also regularly performs as a drag artist. She was born in Fuzhou, a small village in China where she spent time with her grandma as a toddler. When she was just four years old her family relocated to the US, moving around before settling in Chicago. She didn’t have an easy time growing up, being bullied for being different and for expressing herself through her clothes. Young was determined to be true to herself though, and is now on a mission to bring Asian representation to the often very homogenous drag scene in the US. She has been a drag queen for over 10 years now, and has become well known for her exquisite looks and make up, often drawing on her Chinese heritage and celebrating her culture in her work. This can be seen in her Chinese New Year Pig and Year of the Ox Lunar New Year looks.

Having recently starred in AsIAm, a film which celebrates Asian Americans, Young is also working on a project bringing together her love of anime and her skills in makeup. She continues to perform in Chicago and beyond, and has appeared at Drag Con LA too.
