A star of hit obstacle course shows Ninja Warrior UK and Australian Ninja Warrior, Fred Dorrington’s career is in great shape. Dorrington first appeared on series 3 of Ninja Warrior UK in 2015, taking fifth place in his heat and sixth place during the semi-finals. In 2017, Ninja Warrior came to Dorrington’s home country of Australia and he competed in its first season, finishing in 7th place both in his heat and semifinal. During the Grand Final, Dorrington was the Furthest Fastest Ninja and was named the Last Man Standing for the season.
Dorrington was back for Australian Ninja Warrior 2 in 2018, improving on his past performances to finish in third place in the semifinal. He then went on to compete in season 4 of the Vietnamese edition of Sasuke, the long-running Japanese TV show on which Ninja Warrior is based. In episode 8 of the season, Dorrington achieved the Run of the Night and was awarded a cash prize of 4,000,000 Vietnamese dong—which, unfortunately for him, converts to just £125!
2019 saw Dorrington return for Australian Ninja Warrior 3, where he again advanced to the Grand Final, and for Sasuke Vietnam 5, where he won another Run of the Night award after completing a course with 74.42 seconds to spare. In 2020 he competed in Australian Ninja Warrior 4 and reached the Grand Final once again. Outside of TV, Dorrington’s passions include snowboarding, yoga, rowing, sailing, swimming and rock climbing, and he pursues the latter by working at the indoor climbing centre Urban Climb in his hometown of Brisbane.
