Freya Allan was born in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on September 6, 2001. She attended Headington School in Oxford, where she studied drama and ballet. Her early acting experiences included performing in a touring production of *Rapunzel* at age eleven and appearing in short films such as *Bluebird*, *The Christmas Tree*, and *Captain Fierce*.
Allan gained widespread recognition for her role as Princess Cirilla of Cintra in the Netflix adaptation of *The Witcher*, beginning in 2019. She reprised this main role for subsequent seasons, which involved extensive training, including sword fighting for the third season. Her performance on *The Witcher* earned her two nominations for the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in 2021 and 2024. In 2021, Allan also featured in the film *Gunpowder Milkshake*.
Her career continued to advance with leading roles in feature films. In 2023, Allan filmed *Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes* in Australia, playing the human character Mae, where she performed some of her own stunts. The film was released in May 2024 and grossed $397 million worldwide. She also played a lead role in the horror film *Baghead* (2024) and is set to portray Marianne Faithfull in an upcoming biographical film.
