As an expert on climate change and sustainability, Dr Gabrielle Walker is in constant demand for her valuable work helping businesses address global issues and challenges, and turning good intentions into real results. As a New Scientist consultant and regular reporter for the BBC, Walker has reported from every continent of the world on how our world is changing, and has also written for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and The Economist. She presented BBC Radio 4’s Planet Earth Under Threat in 2009, followed by the series Thin Air in 2011.
Walker has taught at some of the top universities around the globe, including Cambridge and Princeton, and she has written four titles, including the critically acclaimed best-seller The Hot Topic – How to Avoid Global Warming While Still Keeping the Lights On, with American politician and environmentalist Al Gore praising the book as “A beacon of clarity”.
She has hosted international meetings and panels around the world, bringing together global humanitarian leaders, former heads of states, global CEOs, military generals and government ministers to focus on global issues including plastics, the circular economy, global warming and energy use.
Walker’s travels, which have included over a dozen trips to the North and South poles, tree climbing in the Amazon and extracting lava from an active volcano, have given her a first-hand insight into the scientific, economic and politic aspects of climate change. As a strategist and consultant, Walker regularly advises businesses on how areas such as leadership, long-term planning, innovation and collaboration can benefit both businesses and the environment.
