Gael Fickou is a rugby union player from France who plays for the team Racing 92 in the French league. His typical placement is either in the middle or on the wing.
At the age of 18, Fickou made his debut for France on the international stage in a match against Scotland on March 16, 2013, at the RBS 6 Nations. During the 2014 Six Nations tournament, Fickou got his first try for France while playing against England. On October 14, 2012, Fickou made his first appearance in the Heineken Cup. The game was a victory over Leicester Tigers, and he scored the game’s only try.
Fickou has been compared to the English rugby hero Jeremy Guscott due to his fluid movement, balance, and pace, especially considering his size. Maxime Médard, a fellow member of the Toulouse and France teams, claims that Fickou is ranked among the top 10 centres in the world, and very soon will take the top spot, because he is tall, athletic, technically sound, and has a good hand-off in addition to a good feel for the game. After playing with Toulouse for the previous six years, Fickou eventually decided to sign with Stade Francais to play for them beginning in the 2018–19 season. It was decided that Fickou will leave Stade Francais on March 22, 2021 and sign with Top 14 rivals Racing 92 in preparation for the 2021–22 season.
