Galantis are a Grammy-nominated Swedish EDM duo consisting of Christian “Bloodshy” Karlsson and Linus “Style of Eye” Eklow. Since their breakthrough in 2014 with the worldwide smash hit ‘Runaway (U & I)’, they have become two of the most highly sought-after producers, songwriters, and DJs in electronic music, particularly in the US, where they have enjoyed hit after hit in the Dance Charts. They have collaborated with the likes of country icon Dolly Parton (on their 2019 single, ‘Faith’) and remixed the likes of Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith. Their third album, Church, was released in 2020 and made the top five of the US Dance Charts.
Galantis came together in the late 2000s. By that time, Karlsson was already an internationally successful writer and producer, with songs such as Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’ to his name as well as credits for the likes of Madonna, J-Lo, and Katy Perry to his name. Taken by Eklow’s programming talents, Karlsson suggested they form Galantis, and the pair signed a deal with a dance subsidiary of Atlantic Records in 2013. The following year, they hit gold with ‘Runaway (U & I)’ which charted all over the world and won a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. Its parent album, Pharmacy, topped the US Dance Charts.
In 2016, ‘No Money’ became the duo’s first Billboard hit as well as their UK top-ten entry. It was the lead single from the eagerly-awaited second album, The Aviary, which emulated the success of their debut. With The Church keeping their hit-rate up, Galantis are one of the biggest names to have emerged from the European EDM scene.
