Gary Oldman

Gary Oldman is an Academy Award-winning English actor known for his versatile and intense acting style. He has appeared in numerous acclaimed films and television series, portraying a wide range of characters from historical figures to iconic villains. After earning his B.A. in theatre arts from Rose Bruford Drama College in 1979, Gary Oldman quickly established himself as a formidable stage actor, receiving Time Out’s Fringe Award for Best Newcomer in 1985-1986 and the British Theatre Association’s Drama Magazine Award as Best Actor in 1985 for his commanding role in ‘The Pope’s Wedding’.

This seminal role also garnered him a Golden Globe Award, Critics’ Choice Movie Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and a BAFTA Award. More recently, Oldman delivered a notable performance as Herman Mankiewicz in David Fincher’s ‘Mank’ (2020) and continues to star as Jackson Lamb in the Apple TV+ series ‘Slow Horses’ (2022-present), which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2022. Looking ahead, Gary Oldman is set to be honored for his exceptional contributions to drama in 2025 with a Knighthood by King Charles III.
